MONROE — Members of the Monroe Common Council unanimously approved two ordinances May 3 allowing the Plan Commission to hold public hearings in relation to zoning text and map amendments.
Previously, the Plan Commission would be asked to provide the council with a recommendation before having heard the public’s thoughts.
“The Plan Commission is recommended to make recommendations, and they’re not doing it on the full knowledge,” City Attorney Dan Bartholf said.
In other matters, the Council:
● Unanimously approved a proposal for pavement preservation on 13th Street
● Heard from alders Michael Boyce and Donna Douglas who each made requests for Council meetings to return to full in-person attendance.
