Monroe Police

MONROE — A two-vehicle accident was reported on 8th Street at 8th Avenue at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Jodi L. Johnson, 34, Monroe, turned into the intersection and collided with Daniel L. Ritschard, 55, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were removed by the operators. Johnson was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. Ritschard was cited for driving a non-registered vehicle. 


Green County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, Sept. 8:

●  At 7:42 a.m., deputies were advised of a one-vehicle crash that had occurred at about 4 a.m. in the N3400 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe. Mitchell J. Barradas, 21, Monroe, was southbound when he reported that he fell asleep. The vehicle entered the northbound lane, went off the road and collided with several mailboxes. The vehicle sustained damage but was driven from the scene. Barradas reported no injuries. He was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

●  Brenna K. Meyer, 17, Belleville, and her juvenile passenger reported no injuries from a one-vehicle rollover crash at 2:26 p.m. in the W4500 block of County W, Town of Exeter. Meyer was eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle. It went into the south ditch, hit a traffic sign and then struck an embankment. It overturned, coming to rest on its tires. It sustained damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed. New Glarus police assisted on scene.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, Sept. 1:

●  A two-vehicle accident was reported at 1:08 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove. Kristin E. Robbins, 37, Cuba City, was following an Amish buggy eastbound when her 2011 Dodge was rear-ended by a 2019 Ford driven by Michael W. Millin, 32, Fennimore. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed. Two minor passengers were taken to a hospital due to minor injuries. The Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS assisted a deputy on scene.

On Monday, Sept. 2:

●  Thomas L. Kammerud, 33, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 10:54 a.m. on County M, Town of Wiota. The 2015 Ford sustained minor damage.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4:

●  Audrey A. Caygill, 64, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 7 p.m. on Cub Hollow Road, Town of Gratiot. No injuries were reported. The 2014 Ford sustained minor damage.

On Sunday, Sept. 8:

●  A multi-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at 4:44 p.m. in Belmont. Maria C. Ruelas, 53, Darlington, was eastbound on County XX in her 2000 Chevrolet and slowing to turn onto McNett Street when a 2003 Buick driven by Michelle J. Bennett, 32, Belmont, rear-ended her. A 2012 Chevrolet traveling behind Bennett and driven by Austin A. Shaffer, 17, Platteville, rear-ended Bennett’s vehicle and pushed it into the path of Joseph D. Wiezorek, 39, Cuba City. Shaffer was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control. The Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS assisted at the scene.

●  Norbert L. McDermott, 61, Darlington, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle accident at 6:54 p.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. He was southbound when he hit the bridge near Lake Road. His 2018 Ram sustained severe damage and was towed. McDermott was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of a vehicle. He was released to a responsible party. Deputies and the Department of Natural Resources assisted the Blanchardville Fire Department and EMS at the scene.
