Monroe Police

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:44 p.m. Nov. 12. Nicholas R. Snow, 20, Monroe, was northbound on 8th Avenue, stopped at the stop sign at 6th Street and was proceeding through the intersection when he was hit by a westbound vehicle on 6th Street driven by Sally A. Beyer, 63, Rockford. Beyer was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign. Snow was cited for no vehicle insurance.


Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle crash at 7:58 p.m. Nov. 10 in the N8000 block of County CC, Town of Exeter. Ann M. Peterson, 41, Monroe, was southbound when her vehicle collided with a bookshelf in the road. Her vehicle sustained minor damage. 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 4:39 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Town of Exeter. Richard E. Levinson, 71, Madison, was westbound on Nye Road, stopped at the stop sign at County D, then proceeded to turn onto County D. His vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle on County D driven by Mark J. Voit, 44, Monticello. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Levinson was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign.

On Nov. 13:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 12:32 p.m. in the N2400 block of County T, Town of Grove. Clarence H. Hack, 50, Brodhead, was southbound and attempting to turn left onto Hafeman Road when he was rear-ended by a southbound vehicle driven by Janet B. Bienash, 60, Beloit. Hack’s vehicle sustained functional damage. Bienash’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed.

●  Non-life threatening injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 10:32 p.m. in the N200 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. Salena Huriostigui, 18, Orangeville, was southbound when her vehicle began experiencing mechanical issues. The equipment lights turned off. She attempted to pull off the road when a southbound vehicle driven by Jordan T. Minnaert, 22, Orangeville, collided with her. Huriostigui was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. Her passenger was not injured. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage. Minnaert’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. Both were towed.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 12:14 p.m. Nov. 14 in the W7200 block of Wis. 11, Town of Clarno. Jacob G. Spinhirne, 36, Lena, Illinois, was westbound when an eastbound vehicle entered his lane. He swerved to avoid a head-on collision. His vehicle was side-swiped, causing minor damage. The other vehicle fled. The crash remains under investigation pending identification of the other driver.

DARLINGTON — On Nov. 4:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 7:53 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. William L. Dixon, 66, Janesville, fell asleep behind the wheel, causing his vehicle to exit the road and come to rest in the ditch. The 2001 Ford sustained severe damage and was towed. Dixon was cited for no vehicle insurance. 

On Nov. 5:

●  Laurie A. Martin, 53, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 6:57 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. Her 2017 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

●  Dexter A. Ray, 25, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:32 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. His 2012 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

●  Jaiden E. Goebel, 16, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 11:11 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. The 2008 Dodge sustained minor damage.

On Nov. 6:

●  Daniel Penniston, 60, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 8:43 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. His 2000 Ford sustained moderate damage and was towed.

●  Brian R. Schilling, 36, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 4:40 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Darlington. His 2015 Ford sustained severe damage.
