MONROE — A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported at 5:33 p.m. May 26. Carla Hartwig, 82, Monroe, was eastbound on 10th Street and after stopping at the stop sign at 22nd Avenue, she hit a northbound vehicle on 22nd Avenue driven by Andrea M. Fernandes, 32, Brodhead. Occupants in the Fernandes vehicle sustained injuries, however medical attention was declined at the scene. Hartwig’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Fernandes’ vehicle sustained severe damage and had to be towed. Hartwig was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. Fernandes was cited for driving with a suspended license.
