Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — Frank V. Simpson, 43, Brooklyn, had non-life threatening injuries from a one-vehicle crash reported at 12:34 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the N7800 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn. Simpson was northbound operating a vehicle pulling a trailer when severe winds shifted the trailer, causing the vehicle to cross the centerline. The trailer then separated from the vehicle while both were in motion, overturned and came to rest in the ditch. The vehicle went into a flooded ditch where it overturned and came to rest on its roof. The cab on the vehicle then took in water. Simpson was able to escape via a window. He walked away from the crash scene and contacted law enforcement from a nearby residence. He reported he was not wearing his seatbelt. Both the vehicle and trailer sustained severe damage and were left on scene. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Albany EMS and the Albany Fire Department assisted.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27:

●  Andrew J. Martin, 38, Monroe, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 2:53 a.m. in the N7100 block of County CC, Town of Mount Pleasant. He was southbound when he lost control due to ice on the road. The vehicle entered the west ditch and struck a snowbank. The vehicle sustained damage and was towed out of the ditch before being driven from the scene. Martin was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance.

●  Terry L. Sorchy, 57, Brodhead, reported no injuries from a rollover crash at about 7 a.m. in the N1800 block of County G, Town of Spring Grove. He was northbound when he lost control. The vehicle entered the east ditch, struck a snowbank and came to rest on its side. It sustained damage and was towed. The Brodhead Police and Fire Departments and Brodhead EMS assisted.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Feb. 21:

●  An accident was reported at 7:41 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. The Darlington Fire Department and Green County EMS of Darlington responded. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 3:16 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. The Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS responded. A deputy assisted on scene.

On Friday, Feb. 22:

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 2:12 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont.

●  Alexis L. Furino, 27, Brodhead, reported hitting a deer at 4:30 a.m. on Lamont Road, Town of Argyle. Furino’s 2013 Ford sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On Saturday, Feb. 23:

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 4:50 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall; at 7:38 a.m. on County W, Town of Monticello; and at 1:50 p.m. on Apple Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 8:02 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. Brian J. Cullen, 50, Shullsburg, and William J. Ruf, 58, Darlington, were traveling in opposite directions on County F when they collided due to icy road conditions. Cullen’s 1998 Ford and Ruf’s 2014 Ram sustained moderate damage and were towed. Green County EMS of Darlington and the Darlington Police and Fire Departments assisted.
