Traffic Accidents: July 25, 2018
ACCIDENT
A one-vehicle rollover accident occurred on CTH XX on Oct. 16.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On July 9: 

♦  No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at 10:16 a.m. on 2nd Street and 8th Avenue. Ashley N. Arn, 36, Sonoma, California, while operating a Honda CR-V failed to yield right of way from a stop sign and collided with a Chrysler Sebring.  Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Arn was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.  

On July 13:

  No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at 5:49 p.m. on 6th Avenue and 2nd Street. Michael R. Pine, 50, Old Town, Idaho, was travelling westbound when his trailer struck an unoccupied, legally parked car. Pine stated he was not aware he struck the car. Pine was located by the Green County Sheriff’s Office and stopped. He was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle. Both the parked car and the semi-trailer sustained minor damage. The owner of the car was notified. 


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — On July 8:

♦  A hit-and-run traffic crash was reported at 11:51 a.m. at the 1000 block of 13th Street. Police are seeking a subject to question about the incident.

On July 9:

♦ A traffic crash was reported at 5:24 p.m. on the 600 block of East 5th Avenue. A semi making a delivery in the area pulled down cable lines.  No citations were issued.

On July 18:

♦  A traffic crash was reported at 6:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A 43-year-old Oregon man was warned for inattentive driving. 

On July 19:

♦  A traffic crash was reported at 7:05 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue. A 24-year-old Brodhead woman was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On July 19:

♦  No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at 8:12 p.m on 14th Avenue and 14th Street, Monroe. Gregory E. Pursell, 58, Cambridge, was southbound on 14th Avenue,  did not stop at a stop sign and collided with a vehicle operated by a 37-year-old man from Lena. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Pursell was arrested and cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (1st offense), operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, and failure to stop for a stop sign. Pursell was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 17:

♦  No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle crash at 7:25 a.m. on the 200 block of Commercial Street, Brooklyn.  Erik Sanchez Velasco, 28, Des Moines, was operating a semi unit and was trying to attempt a backing maneuver when he struck a light post. The semi unit did not sustain any damage. 

On July 18:

♦  No injuries were reported in a single-motor vehicle accident at 10:28 p.m. in the W1100 block of Wis. 11, Spring Grove. Debra M. Person, 62, Brodhead, was traveling eastbound on Wis. 11 when her vehicle entered the south shoulder of the roadway.  Person’s vehicle entered the south ditch where it struck a fence.  Person’s vehicle sustained minor damage and the airbags did not deploy.  Person’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Person was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.  Person was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration and for failure to keep vehicle under control. Person was released pending a court appearance. The Brodhead Police and Fire Department assisted.
