Monroe Police

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 10:46 p.m. Nov. 26 in the 2500 block of 13th Street. Jason M. Reamer, 34, Monroe, was westbound when he hit a legally parked unoccupied vehicle. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed. He was cited for inattentive driving.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Nov. 25:

●  Kayla M. Muhlenhaupt, 29, Albany, was transported by Brooklyn EMS for further evaluation of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash at 6:16 a.m. in the N8600 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn. She was northbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to fog and wet road conditions. Her vehicle went into the east ditch, hit an embankment and overturned. Her vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. The Brooklyn Fire Department assisted.

●  Justin S. Helton, 26, Browntown, was transported by Green County EMS for further evaluation of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash at 11:22 p.m. in the W8500 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz. He was westbound when he went into the north ditch and hit a guardrail. His vehicle overturned and came to rest in a creek. His vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. He reported he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. He was cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle and no vehicle insurance. The Browntown Fire Department assisted.

On Nov. 26:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle crash at 11:29 a.m. in the W2200 block of County C, Town of Brooklyn. Frank Wickman, 27, Evansville, was eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer, entered the ditch and hit multiple trees. His vehicle sustained moderate damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed. He was cited for failure to notify police of an accident.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle crash at 5:54 p.m. in the Town of Adams. Robert Sutter, 67, Beaver Dam, was eastbound on County C when he failed to see the intersection at County J and continued through without stopping and entered the east ditch. His vehicle sustained minor damage.

On Nov. 27:

●  A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:21 a.m. in the W5100 block of Kubly Road, Town of New Glarus. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle unoccupied. Investigation revealed Joshua J. Byrne, 22, Belleville, was eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer. His vehicle entered the south ditch and collided with a power pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed. Byrne reported minor injuries. He was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control, unsafe lane deviation, failure to notify law enforcement of an accident, non-registration of auto, displaying unauthorized vehicle registration and no vehicle insurance.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 1:45 p.m. in the W6900 block of Smock Valley Road, Town of Monroe. Cristal Solis, 33, Freeport, was eastbound when she attempted to turn left into a private driveway. An eastbound vehicle behind her, driven by Ronald H. Nipple, 62, Monroe, attempted to pass her and they collided. Solis’ vehicle sustained damage. It was towed.

DARLINGTON — On Nov. 11:

●  David D. Briggs, 54, Rock City, Illinois, reported hitting a deer at 2:34 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. His 1997 International sustained moderate damage.

●  Jeremiah M. Tollakson, 25, Mount Hope, reported hitting a deer at 4:32 p.m. on County G, Town of Argyle. His 2012 Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  Daniel J. Blotz, 49, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:48 p.m. on River End Road, Town of Darlington. His 2005 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  Brian K. Keith, 52, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 7:32 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. His 2016 Toyota sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 10:09 p.m. in the Town of Darlington. Nicholas J. Ludwig, 21, Shullsburg, was eastbound on Mineral Road when he pulled out into the intersection at County E and accelerated to avoid being hit by an oncoming southbound vehicle on County E. His vehicle entered the ditch and came to rest on a fence. The 2018 Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed. Ludwig was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.

On Nov. 14:

●  Steven R. Slama, 63, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:52 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Gratiot. His 2011 Ford sustained moderate damage.

●  Nicolas A. Castillo, 25, Darlington, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries from a one-vehicle accident at 5:57 p.m. on County W, Town of Benton. He was eastbound when he hit a deer, causing his vehicle to leave the road, go through a fence, down an embankment and come to rest in a creek. The 2017 Nissan sustained severe damage. It was towed. Benton First Response, Hazel Green EMS and Hazel Green police assisted.

On Nov. 15:

●  Lauren L. Welsh, 20, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 8:22 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. Her 2012 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. 

On Nov. 16:

●  Micah C. Gabel, 33, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 6:12 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot. His 2008 Honda sustained moderate damage. It was towed.

●  Kenton E. Anderson, 20, Athens, reported hitting a deer at 6:15 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. His 2016 GMC sustained severe damage. It was towed. 

On Nov. 17:

●  Robert C. Noble, 55, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 3:44 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. His 2009 Ford sustained minor damage.

On Nov. 20:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 8 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Tyler R. Baker, 18, Epworth, Iowa, reported hitting a deer at 5:08 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. His 2001 Volkswagen sustained severe damage and was towed. Belmont police and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted as multiple cars hit the deer.

●  Phillip H. Nelson, 68, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 5:32 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. His 2008 Ford sustained moderate damage.

On Nov. 21:

●  Margaret J. Sutter, 58, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 4:19 a.m. on Old Q Road, Town of Argyle. Her 2008 Mercury sustained moderate damage.

●  Hailey M. Landphier, 21, Platteville, reported hitting a deer at 9:56 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. Her 2011 Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  Howard A. Hodgson, 66, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 11:35 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. His 2018 Kia sustained moderate damage.

●  Michael J. King, 38, Brodhead, reported hitting a deer at 5:43 p.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Gratiot. His 2000 GMC sustained moderate damage.

On Nov. 22:

●  James P. Conrin, 68, Pinellas Park, Florida, reported hitting a deer at 8:05 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. His 2015 Ford sustained severe damage. It was towed.

On Nov. 23

●  Joseph M. Wheelock, 67, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 5:14 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. His 2008 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  John E. Dunlavy III, 52, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 6:18 p.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. His 2016 Chrysler sustained minor damage.

On Nov. 24:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 6:57 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. Giselle Mendez, 18, Darlington, lost control and went into the ditch, hitting a fence due to slippery conditions. Her 2006 Dodge sustained minor damage. She was cited for driving without a license.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 6:10 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont. Candace M. Klaas, 44, Livingston, lost control and entered the ditch due to slippery conditions. Her 2015 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  Hannah M. Fair, 19, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 5:46 p.m. Nov. 26 on South Holland Road, Town of Gratiot. Her 2010 Jeep sustained moderate damage. She was cited for possession of marijuana and driving without a valid license.

●  Gary L. Loken, 74, Darlington, was transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County by Green County EMS of Darlington, and later airlifted to Madison, for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident at 12:13 p.m. Nov. 27 on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. He was southbound when he crossed the center line and hit a trailer being hauled by Tyler J. Meyer, 35, Cuba City. His 2016 Toyota sustained severe damage. It was towed. Meyer’s 2012 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. He reported no injuries. Darlington police and the Darlington Fire Department assisted.

On Nov. 28:

●  Jon A. Neff, 58, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 3:58 a.m. on White School Road, Town of Gratiot. His 2017 Dodge sustained minor damage.

●  Joe W. Salava, 55, Ridgeway, reported hitting a deer at 6:26 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Mineral Point. His 2016 Dodge sustained minor damage. 

On Nov. 29:

●  Ancil K. Norland, 63, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 6:09 a.m. on County D, Town of Lamont. His 2004 Ford sustained minor damage.
