Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 31: 

●  No injuries were reported from a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash at 11:33 a.m. in the W9200 block of County H, Town of York. Logan M. Swiggum, 18, Blanchardville, was traveling east when he crossed the centerline entering the westbound lane while negotiating a curve in the road and hit a westbound vehicle operated by Thuy-Quyen Tran, 41, Blanchardville. Swiggum’s motorcycle sustained disabling damage. It was removed. Tran’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Swiggum was cited for operating left of center, operating motorcycle without valid license and no vehicle insurance. 

●  Berit K. Harpstrite Nielsen, 59, Juda, was treated by New Glarus EMS for injuries sustained from a motorcycle crash at 3:41 p.m. in the W6100 block of Wis. 39, Town of New Glarus. She was eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the ditch. She was ejected from the motorcycle. She was not wearing a helmet. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. New Glarus Fire Department and New Glarus Police Department assisted. 

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 12:20 a.m. Aug. 1 in the W5800 block of Old Argyle Road, Town of Monroe. Driver had fled scene prior to the arrival of deputies. Investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling on Old Argyle Rd. when it exited the roadway, hitting a mailbox and a culvert. The vehicle sustained damage. It was towed. The crash remains under investigation. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On July 30: 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 2:43 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. Catherine L. Niemeier, 60, Argyle, was eastbound when she attempted to turn onto County C and turned in front of a vehicle operated by Andrew T. Chenous, 37, Argyle. He swerved to avoid a collision and entered the ditch. His vehicle sustained minor damage. Niemeier was cited for failure to yield the right of way. 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 5:58 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Argyle. Grace E. Gassman, 18, Argyle, was northbound when she hit a parked car. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. 

On Aug. 1: 

●  A two-vehicle accident was reported at 3:46 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. Kimberly D. Brown, 43, Shullsburg, was attempting to turn onto County E when a motorcycle operated by Perry G. Leerschen, 55, Wheaton, Illinois, ran into the side of her vehicle. Leerschen was cited for passing in a no-passing zone. Shullsburg EMS assisted. 

●  Sarah R. Belsky, 22, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 5:22 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. Her 2015 Cadillac sustained severe damage. It was towed.
