Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 30:

•  No injuries were reported after a vehicle swerved to avoid a deer and crashed at 11:30 p.m. on Wis. 92 in the Town of Exeter. Deputies responded to a report of a disabled vehicle at 5:10 a.m. at the intersection of County W and Wis. 92. Investigation revealed that Benjamin A. Schmid, 18, Madison, was southbound on Wis. 92 when he swerved to avoid a deer. Schmid’s vehicle ented the ditch and then a cornfield. Schmid was wearing his seat belt and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Schmid was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control and was released pending court.

•  No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash at 10:43 a.m. at the intersection of County W and County CC in the Town of Exeter. Lynn M. Crull, 57, Monroe, was traveling westbound through the intersection when an eastbound vehicle operated by Rhandee H. Wenger, 25, New Glarus, failed to yield the right-of-way while turning south on County CC and the two vehicles collided. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no airbags deployed in either vehicle. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Wenger was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way and was released pending court.

On August 1:

•  No injuries were reported after a one-vehicle crash at 11:26 p.m. on Wis. 11. Deputies responded to a traffic complaint of a truck traveling without a tire in the W8000 block of Wis. 11 in the Town of Cadiz and located Martin C. Wooley, 66, Juda. Wooley was wearing his seat belt and the airbags did not deploy. Wooley was arrested for operating while under the influence (alcohol) 1st offense and was released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On July 30:

•  No one was injured in a one-vehicle rollover at 8:49 a.m. on County F in Seymour Township. Darlington Fire, Paramount Ambulance and Lafayette County Sheriff responded.

On July 31:

•  No injuries we reported after a car struck at deer at 3:10 p.m. on Rodham Road in Seymour Township. Abigail G. Jerry, 18, Shullsburg, was uninjured, and her 2011 Nissan received severe damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

On August. 1:

•  No injuries were reported after a vehicle driven by Craig A. Tourdot, 46, Monroe, struck at deer at 9:25 a.m. on Short Cut Road in Willow Springs Township. Tourdot’s 2002 Peterbuilt received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

•  No injuries were reported after a vehicle driven by Richard J. Nelson, 76, Argyle, struck a deer at 8:18 p.m. on Wis. 78 in Argyle Township. Nelson’s 2005 Chrysler received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
