Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — On Thursday, April 18:

●  An occupied vehicle in the ditch was reported at 6:18 a.m. in the W200 block of Borchardt Road, Town of Decatur. Deputies and Brodhead police responded. Upon their arrival, they discovered the vehicle was unoccupied and the driver had fled the scene. The driver was later identified as Travis L. Murray, 35, Albany. He was westbound when he reported that he swerved to miss a deer in the road. His vehicle went into the south ditch and hit an embankment. Murray reported no injuries. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was later towed from the scene. Murray was cited for unsafe lane deviation, failure to notify police of an accident and failure to keep a vehicle under control.

●  Cynthia K. Svendsen, 55, Monroe, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash reported at 5:38 p.m. at the intersection of Wis. 11 and County S, Town of Jefferson. She was taken by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. Svendsen was eastbound and attempting to turn north onto County S when the driver of an eastbound vehicle behind her, Guadalupe Arias-Alva, 37, Milwaukee, attempted to pass her on the left and collided with her vehicle.  Arias-Alva and his two adult passengers reported no injuries. His vehicle sustained damage, but he was able to drive it from the scene. He was cited for driving without vehicle insurance and failure to keep a vehicle under control. Svendsen’s vehicle sustained damage and was towed. Juda Fire assisted.

●  Chris L. Narveson, 56, New Glarus, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 6:09 p.m. in the N8700 block of Badger Road, Town of York. He was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the road and hit several trees, then rolled onto its side and came to rest. It sustained damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed. Narveson was cited for inattentive driving.

On Friday, April 19:

●  Gayle G. Osborn, 68, Brodhead, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash reported at 1:27 p.m. in the Town of Spring Grove, just east of Juda. Osborn was traveling on Wis. 11 when he rear-ended a vehicle stopped in front of him at the intersection with County OK. The driver of the other vehicle, Christopher T. Hoesly, 40, Brodhead, was waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn north onto County OK. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed. Hoesly reported no injuries. Osborn was trapped inside his vehicle and extricated by the Juda Fire Department. Green County EMS took him to the Monroe Clinic ER. Osborn was cited for inattentive driving.

On Saturday, April 20:

●  Deputies located a car vs. deer crash at 2:03 a.m. in the W2600 block of County EE, Town of Mount Pleasant. Investigation revealed the driver, Cade S. Howell, 17, New Glarus, was westbound when a deer entered the road and collided with his vehicle. Howell reported no injuries. The vehicle sustained stabling damage and was towed. The deer was located and found to be deceased. Further investigation resulted in deputies arresting Howell on a first-offense charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for violating the Absolute Sobriety law. He was released pending court. Albany police assisted with the investigation.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Saturday, April 13:

●  Tyler R. Everson, 23, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 8:55 p.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot. No injuries were reported. The 1998 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Sunday, April 14:

●  Jeremy L. Nall, 43, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 9:35 a.m. on County N, Town of Wiota. No injuries were reported. The 2013 Ram sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Monday, April 15:

●  Jeremiah W. Johnson, 39, reported hitting a deer at 4:54 a.m. on County S, Town of Willow Springs. His 2009 Pontiac sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On Wednesday, April 17:

●  Melanie J. Willborn, 44, Belmont, reported hitting an animal at 9:36 a.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Elk Grove. No injuries were reported. Her 2013 Ford sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On Thursday, April 18:

●  William J. McCarville, 61, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 6:03 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. His 2017 Ford sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

●  Stephen N. Vernier, 72, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 8:03 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. His 2014 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Sunday, April 21:

●  Austin G. Pax, 21, Warren, reported hitting a deer at 9:47 a.m. on Blackhawk Road, Town of Shullsburg. His 2005 Ford sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 1:15 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Lucy A. Heinberg, 18, Darlington, lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail. Her 2001 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage.
