Monroe Police

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 11:38 a.m. April 8 in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. A 17-year-old, Monroe, hit a vehicle operated by Calvin W. Sanderson, 63, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Sanderson was issued a citation for driving without a valid license


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Zeke R. Walmer, 26, Argyle, was transported by Green County EMS for medical evaluation for injuries sustained from a car vs. deer crash at 6:18 a.m. in the W6500 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. She was eastbound when she hit a deer that entered the roadway. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. Monroe Rural Fire Department assisted. 

●   Bruce T. Torry, 55, Rockford, was transported by Argyle EMS for medical evaluation of injuries sustained from a three-vehicle crash at 10:38 p.m. in the W8300 block of Wis. 81, Town of Jordan. Caleb M. Lincicum, 18, Monroe, was westbound when he slowed down for a westbound horse drawn buggy. He was rear-ended by a westbound vehicle operated by Torry which caused part of Torry’s vehicle to detach and hit an eastbound vehicle operated by Otto W. Kerl, 58, Argyle. Lincicum’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Kerl’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Torry’s vehicle sustained moderate damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. He was cited for following too closely and no vehicle insurance. 

● Thomas C. Wottreng, 57, Elkhorn, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for non-life threatening injuries sustained from a motorcycle crash at 4:25 p.m. April 13 on County M and Hale Road, Town of Cadiz. He was traveling east on County M when he lost control while negotiating a curve and entered the ditch. His motorcycle sustained damage. He was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance. Browntown Fire Department assisted. 

● Deputies and Monticello Fire Department responded for a single-vehicle crash at 2:39 a.m. April 17 in the N5100 block of Wis. 69. This remains under investigation. 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 11:01 p.m. April 18 in the N2100 block of Haddinger Road, Town of Clarno. Sarah J. Roesslein, 43, Monroe, was northbound when she swered to avoid a deer. She entered the east ditch and hit a fence. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage. It was towed. She was cited for no vehicle insurance. 


Lafayette County Sheriff 

DARLINGTON — On March 25: 

●  Southwest Health EMS and Platteville Fire responded for a two-vehicle accident at 6:30 a.m. March 26 on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove. Lori L. Gabioud, 53, Darlington, was westbound when she crossed the center line and hit a 2020 Freightliner operated by Mark A. Spensley, 59, Platteville. Both parties denied EMS. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. They were towed. Gabioud was cited for driving left of center. 

● Brian J. Davis, 42, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 4:56 a.m. March 29 on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. His 2018 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. 

●  Daniel J. Blotz, 50, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 6:41 a.m. March 31 on Gravel Run Road, Town of Lamont. His 2000 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  Minor injuries were reported from a hit-and-run at 6:43 p.m. April 4 on Ollie Bell Road, Town of Benton. Christopher J. Clough, 36, Benton, was westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. He exited the roadway and hit a fence. His 2004 Saturn sustained severe damage. It was towed. He was cited for no vehicle insurance, failure to keep vehicle under control, driving while suspended and hit-and-run to property adjacent to highway. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS assisted.

● Amanda L. Place reported hitting a deer at 8:51 p.m. April 5 on County G, Town of Belmont. 

●  Sasha M. Piantieri, 31, Apple River, Illinois, reported hitting a deer at 3:05 a.m. April 6 on County Z, Town of Darlington. The 1999 Subaru sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  Paige P. Hohlstein, 26, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 6:23 a.m. April 8 on Riverside Road, Town of Darlington. Her 2017 Kia sustained minor damage.

● Travis D. Bennett, 43, Benton, reported hitting a deer at 5:11 a.m. April 12 on Wis. 11, Town of Benton. His 2008 Pontiac sustained minor damage. 

On April 13: 

●  Jayci K. Schliem, 17, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7:41 a.m. on County Shop Road, Town of Darlington. The 2007 Nissan sustained minor damage.
