DARLINGTON — On Sept. 28:

●  Talia L. Rothenbuehler, 30, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 7:35 a.m. on County F, Town of Darlington. Her 2017 Jeep sustained minor damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 7:55 p.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont. Kayla Barnes, 30, Blanchardville, was northbound when she pulled to the side of the road to remove debris from the roadway. Shane D. Nodolf, 30, Belmont, came over the hill and side-swiped Barnes’ 2010 Toyota, causing it severe damage. It was towed. Nodolf’s 2014 Dodge sustained minor damage.

●  Brian A. Mundt, 58, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 8:20 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont. His 2005 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

●  Jeremy L. Hefty, 38, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 10:50 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. His 2007 Ford sustained minor damage. 

On Sept. 29:

●  Zackery D. Hagen, 26, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 6:14 a.m. on Meier Road, Town of Wayne. His 2015 Jeep sustained minor damage. 

●  Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 5 on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. Hali S. Smith, 28, Shullsburg, was eastbound when she fell asleep. Her 2013 Chevrolet left the road and overturned. She was transported to the hospital. The Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed. Shullsburg Fire and EMS assisted.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 7:27 p.m. Oct. 6 on County K, Town of Darlington. Dakota M. Paulson, 19, Darlington, was westbound when he hit a cow. His 2001 Ford sustained severe damage. It was towed.

On Oct. 7:

●  Sarah C. Crist, 43, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 7:18 a.m. on King Road, Town of Willow Springs. Her 2020 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 1:31 p.m. on West Grove Street in South Wayne. The driver of a 2019 Nissan Frontier, owned by O’Reilly Automotive, was backing out of a parking lot and struck a 2017 Toyota owned by Mary L. Berget, 71, South Wayne.

On Oct. 8:

●  Tiffany L. Meier, 30, Lancaster, was transported to Southwest Health Center for non-life threatening injuries from a one-vehicle rollover at 1:55 a.m. on Mitchell Hollow Road, Town of Belmont. She was westbound when she failed to negotiate a turn, causing the vehicle to exit the road, roll several times and come to rest in a pasture. Her 2019 Kia, rented by Hertz Vehicles LLC, sustained severe damage and was towed. The Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, UW-Platteville police and Belmont police assisted. Meier was cited second-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to keep vehicle under control and open intoxicants.

●  Chad D. Duhai, 38, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 3:24 a.m. on Stuart Road, Town of Wiota. His 2020 Ram sustained moderate damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 12:12 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington. Ryan L. Doles, 33, Cuba City, was traveling on County K when a deer ran out in front of him. He tried to avoid hitting the deer, causing his 2016 Chevrolet to veer off the road and coming to rest in the ditch. The Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

On Oct 9:

●  Fred L. Koster, 75, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 6:34 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. His 2018 Toyota sustained minor damage.

●  Wendy J. Ruegsegger, 36, Browntown, reported hitting a deer at 8:53 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. Her 2016 Dodge sustained moderate damage.

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 10:15 p.m. on County H, Town of Elk Grove. The responding deputy was unable to locate it.

On Oct. 11:

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 2:43 a.m. on County H, Town of Benton. Brandon J. Lyne, 26, Benton, was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The 2018 Chevrolet entered the ditch and struck a utility pole, then burst into flames. It was towed. Lyne was cited for hit-and-run, no vehicle insurance, failure to notify police of an accident, deviation from designated lane and failure to keep vehicle under control. Benton Fire and First Response and Cuba City EMS assisted. 

On Oct. 14:

●  A deputy responded for a minor two-vehicle accident at 10:16 a.m. on Hirsbrunner Road, Town of Fayette. 

●  Aric C. Barnard, 40, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7:12 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont. His 2015 Chrysler sustained moderate damage.

●  Deidrik S. Rear, 39, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 7:45 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. His 2010 Volkswagen sustained moderate damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 8:59 p.m. Oct. 15 on County H, Town of Blanchard. Jason A. Terhall, 35, Waunakee, was eastbound when he swerved and hit a bridge. He was arrested on a charge of possessing a Schedule IV narcotic. He was also cited for no vehicle insurance, then booked and released to a responsible party.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Tamara Kieffer, 43, Darlington, and two children were transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County for injuries sustained from a traffic crash reported at 12:23 p.m. Oct. 3 at Wis. 23 and Wis. 81. Kieffer was southbound on Wis. 23 when Gavin Klocke, 19, Monroe, failed to yield the right-of-way to her. Klocke was medically evaluated on scene. Both vehicles sustained major damage.
