Woodrow W. Pryce, age 95 of Brodhead-Albany, Wisconsin area, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born March 29, 1913 on the home farm in Decatur Township, the son of Bert C. and Zula Mae (Gillette) Pryce and attended Brodhead rural schools.
Woodrow married Mary Whitehead on June 1, 1936 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. He later married Letha Zee on February 18, 1989 at Albany United Methodist Church. Woodrow farmed all his life in the Norwegian Settlement north of Albany. He was a former member of Albany United Methodist Church, then a member of The Congregational UCC in Brodhead, was a charter member of Albany Lions Club, was Chairman of Albany Township for many years, and a Green County Supervisor.
Surviving are his son, Claire (Shelley) Pryce of Albany, WI; daughters, Carol Turkelson of Arcadia, FL and Gail (Jack) Morris of Monroe, WI; brother, William "Bill" (Marilyn) Pryce of Monroe, WI; sister, Pauline Hulbert of Brodhead, WI; step-children, Arlyn (Bonnie) Zee of Albany, WI and Shirley Davies-Morris of Albany, WI; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wives; brothers, Warren Pryce and Virgil Pryce; sisters, Virginia Zimmerman and Ruth R. Olson; and a child in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at The CONGREGATIONAL UCC, 201 E. 23rd St., in Brodhead, WI with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Albany, WI.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI.
A memorial fund is being established in Woodrow's memory.
