BRODHEAD - William 'Bill' T. Reigle Jr., age 81, of Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at his home. He was born on November 24, 1926 in Beloit, WI, the son of William and Estella (Tripke) Reigle. He married Lorraine L. Margeson on September 26, 1953 in Beloit. She passed away on November 6, 2008.
Bill was a World War II Army Veteran and had worked at General Motors in Janesville, retiring in 1982. He was a fireman for 20 years with the Brodhead Fire Dept., a member of the Brodhead American Legion, and also a member of Wisconsin on Wheels. He loved music, especially New Orleans blues, big band, and country, traveling, playing cards, camping, and watching local slow-pitch teams.
He is survived by four children, Linda (Norman) Strothman, Brodhead, Billie (Tom Palombi) Pankhurst, Orfordville, Thomas (Lyla) Reigle, Janesville, Paul (Diana) Reigle, Juda, three sisters, Dorothy Feldt, Evansville, Pearl (John) Wideman, Juda, Clarice (Mike) Elvekrog, Stoughton, 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roy and Robert, and three sisters, Evelyn, Joyce, and Elenora.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Brodhead, with Rev. Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church on Wednesday. A memorial fund will be established.
