Wayne "Lucky" P. Kreft, 80, of Monroe passed away on Friday, September 01, 2017 at Azura Memory Care in Monroe, He was born on January 2, 1937 in Chicago, the son of William and Bessie (Van Dyke) Kreft. Lucky was united in marriage to Diane M. Koppen on June 28, 1994. He went to school in Lisle and Downers Grove, IL. He was previously married to Pat McIntire for 32 years in IN.
Wayne loved driving truck, hot rods, motorcycles, and listening to country music. He drove for Advance Transformer for 27 years. He also enjoyed family reunions and the time spent with family.
He was a member of the Teamster Local 710.
Lucky is survived by his wife, Diane of Monroe; children, Terry (Deborah) Kreft of Claypool, IND, Carla Kreft of Ord, NE, and Debra Klotz of Ashborn, VA; 2 step-children, Scott (Christy) Botterman of Genoa, IL; Nicole (Scott) Ruegsegger of Monroe, 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Nancy) Kreft, Paul (Leona) Kreft, Barbara (Keith) Gaines, Bobby (Judy) Kreft, David Kreft, and Tim(Lisa) Kreft; as well as sisters-in-law, Esther Kreft, Glenda Kreft and Connie Koppen; brother-in-law, Edward Koppen and mother-in-law, Phyllis Koppen.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Donald, Billy, and Glen; and sister, Charlene; and father-in-law, Duane Koppen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Chaplain Sue Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe Clinic Hospice.
