MONROE - The city of Monroe will be flushing water mains from Wednesday, May 1 through Sunday, June 30.
Some discoloration may occur in their water; water is safe and is not harmful to their health, according to the water utility. The discoloration is caused by encrusted minerals being flushed from the walls of the mains. The best way to handle the discoloration is to turn on the cold water and let it run until the water is clear.
