Vivian V."Biddy" Erickson, age 84 of Gratiot, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. She was born on January 2, 1924 in Gratiot Township, Lafayette County, to Charles W. and Alta J. (Douglas) Noble. She was united in marriage to Reuben E. Erickson on September 28, 1944 at Wiota Lutheran Church Parsonage, Wiota, WI. Vivian lived in the Gratiot area most of her life. She was employed as an assembler and group leader at Micro Switch Manufacturing in Warren, IL. After twenty eight years of service, Vivian retired in 1982.
Vivian is survived by two daughters: Judith (Thomas) Fernstaedt of Warren, IL and Barbara (Terry) Berget of South Wayne, WI; eight grandchildren: Valerie (Leland) Woodley, Cheri (Dean) Kaiser, Ashley (fiance Justin Wolber) Fernstaedt, Craig Berget, Troy (Jamie Ruch) Berget, Eric (Donna Flannery) Berget, Wade (Bridget) Berget, and Tara (fiance Desie Breadon) Berget; two sisters: Mabel Bonjour and Juanita Collins, both of Monroe; four great-grandchildren: Kody and Kolton Kaiser, Mason Woodley and Cadyn Burbach; and two step-great-grandchildren, Reesan Ruch and Zach Blackwood. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on January 6, 1978; two brothers: Chester and Orville Noble; and two sisters: Geraldine Chandler and Fernie Meichetry.
Vivian was a past member of Gratiot Methodist Church and its Methodist Women and past secretary of the Gratiot M.E. Cemetery. She also offered her time to the Gratiot VFW Auxiliary and a number of other local organizations. Vivian was the Good Samaritan of Gratiot and was always willing to go out of her way to help those in need.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Wiota Lutheran Church with Rev. Sara Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at Gratiot M.E. Cemetery in Gratiot Township.
