BRODHEAD/ORFORDVILLE - Vivian Louisa Skogan, age 89, formerly of Brodhead and Orfordville, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home, Monroe. She was born August 5, 1919 in Spring Grove Township, the daughter of Barton Jay and Eva Fern (Robertson) Marsh. She married Donald E. Skogan on June 1, 1941 at the Orfordville Lutheran Parsonage. He passed away on February 5, 2005.

Vivian graduated from Durand High School and had been a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran and Orfordville Lutheran churches. She and her husband farmed for many years in the Brodhead area. After retiring from farming, she worked for several years at Advanced Transformer in Monroe. She enjoyed many years of dancing at Bluff View Park, Brodhead, and surrounding dance halls, playing cards with friends, and traveling with her husband in their RV. She also liked to read the Bible and doing word search puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Clement) Vita, Monroe, WI, Sandra Reed, Browntown, WI; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, Tom and Terry Marsh; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Roland Marsh and a son-in-law, Michael Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Ronald E. Massen officiating. Burial will be in West Luther Valley Cemetery, rural Brodhead. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
