Vivian J. Ethridge, age 83, died on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on November 7, 1926 in Darlington, the daughter of Mervin and Mildred (Newsom) Andrews. Vivian and jay Robert Ethridge were married on July 26, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked at Burgess Battery and retired from the Swiss Colony. Vivian was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #599, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. One of Vivian's greatest love was spending time with her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Ty, Brady, Danielle, Curtis and Elizabeth.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Ethridge of Monroe, Sons, Larry (Pat) Schwartz of Fort Atkinson, Stephen Schwartz of Monroe: grandchildren: Marci (Tom) Drenzek and Michele (Shelly) Vind: great grandchildren: Mitchell, Ty, Brady Drenzek, Danielle, Curtis, Elizabeth Vind: Brothers, Francis Andrews, of Apple River, IL, Arthur Andrews of Monroe, Ivan (Arlene) Andrews of Darlington: sisters, Evelyn Dettwiler of Wisconsin Dells, Dorthea (Ken) Rufer of Monroe. She was predeceased by her parents, Mervin and Mildred Andrews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. There will be a Women of the Moose Service at 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A Memorial Fund is being established in Vivian's memory. The family would like to thank the New Glarus Nursing Home and Hospice for their special care & assistance during Vivian's illness.
