Virginia Elise Roberts
Virginia Elise Roberts, age 78 of Monroe, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her home. Virginia was born July 31, 1930 in Marquette, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ira and Agnes (Tabolski) Wilson. She graduated from Markesan High School and married Orville Earl Roberts on June 6, 1959 in Chicago. They lived in Chicago for 30 years before moving to Monroe in 1987.

Virginia was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Chicago. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and enjoyed collecting butterflies.

She is survived by her husband, Orville Roberts of Monroe; two sons, Ray (Judi) Roberts of Middlebury, IN, and Alan Roberts of Monroe; a daughter, Dawn Fina of Wautoma, WI; eight grandchildren, Mike, Anthony, Stevie, and Jimmy Fina, Jeremy and Amy Fromm, and Nicholas and Victoria Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beth Fromm; and two brothers, Bruce and Neil Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Pastor Margo Peterson of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Warren, IL, will officiate with interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in her name.
