Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 5 p.m. Friday on Wisconsin 81 near the Wis. 11 exchange in the Town of Monroe. Deputies report a wrecker driven by Greg R. Jelle, 34, Monroe, was southbound on Wis. 81 when he was forced off the highway by an unidentified semi unit and collided with a sign.

The wrecker received minor damages and was driven from the scene. The crash remains under investigation.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday on County E in the Town of Darlington. Deputies report Jamie A. Flores, 18, Darlington, was eastbound when he crossed the center line into the westbound shoulder, lost control and traveled back into the eastbound lane where the vehicle struck a bridge.

Two passengers were juveniles and were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

Flores was cited for failure to maintain control, driving without insurance and driving without a valid license.

One person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident at about 5:45 a.m. Friday on Johnson Road in the Town of Shullsburg. Deputies report Douglas W. M. Champion, 17, Shullsburg, was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle slid sideways into the east ditch and overturned twice before coming to rest on the driver's side and against a fence and power pole. Champion was take to the hospital by private vehicle. The vehicle received damage and was towed from the scene.

Champion was cited for failure to maintain control, open intoxicants as a driver and underage consumption.

Andrew J. Clarkowski, 41, Fitchburg, reported striking a deer at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Wis. 11 in the Town of New Diggings.
