Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle accident at 12:48 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 6th Street and 1st Avenue. Reports indicate that Myron G. Leutenegger, 61, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by Linda L. Holstrom, 62, Monroe. Leutenegger was cited for following too close.

- No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle accident at 5:19 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 7th Street and 15th Avenue. Reports indicate that Brian L. Gumtow, 51, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by Randall E. Higbee, 54, Muscoda. Gumtow was cited for failure to yield right-away from stop sign.

- No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle accident at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 21st Street. Reports indicate that Jennifer Knox, 19, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by Veronica Severson, 48, Juda. Knox was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Mary Ann Chambers, 65, Monticello, was backing up when she hit a parked vehicle in a parking lot at 4:42 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 6:59 p.m. Friday on County J, near Holstein Prairie Road, in the Town of Adams. Reports indicate that Curtis D. Berndt, 41, Monroe, was traveling South on County J when he hit a deer with his motorcycle. Curtis was taken to UW Hospital in Madison by Med Flight helicopter for injuries he sustained in the crash. Curtis was wearing a helmet and had eye protection on. The deer was killed on impact. The motorcycle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 11:08 a.m. Saturday on S. Klondike Road and Wis. 81 in the Town of Jordan. Reports indicate that Russell A. Whitney, 50, of Juda, WI, was traveling north on S. Klondike Road and stopped at the intersection, when Whitney noticed flames coming up from under the hood. Whitney drove his truck off the roadway into a nearby ditch and exited his vehicle. The fire spread though out the entire front half of the truck. The fire caused extensive damage and the truck was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 9:36 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 11, near Smock Valley Road, in the Town of Monroe. Reports indicate that Richard H. Meske, 61, South Wayne, was driving westbound on Wis. 11 when he hit a deer. The vehicle had moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

- Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 2:31 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Railroad Street in New Glarus. Reports indicate that Roseanne E. Ott, 54, New Glarus, attempted to turn north onto 3rd Avenue from Railroad Street when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went into the west ditch and hit a concrete barrier. The vehicle had severe damage and was towed from the scene. Roseanne Ott and her passenger, Peter G. Ott, 56, New Glarus, had injuries but declined medical treatment. Roseanne Ott was arrested for first offense of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, and cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Roseanne Ott was released.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Deputies responded to a hit-and-run accident at 5:22 a.m. Friday on Main Street in the Village of Gratiot. Reports indicate that a vehicle owned by Ronald K. McDonald, 79, Gratiot, was legally parked when it was it in the left rear side of the vehicle causing severe damage. The other vehicle left the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

- No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at the campground in Yellowstone Lake State Park. Reports indicate that Diane M. Salzman, 43, Mayville, was pulling in a parking stall into a parking spot in front of a building when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the break. The truck jumped the cement parking barricade and hit a cement pillar on the building. The truck had moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
