MONROE - Injuries were reported during a motorcycle accident at 12:56 p.m. Saturday on Benkert Road, north of Aebly Road, in the Town of Monroe. Reports indicate that Thomas R. Thompson, 69, of Rockford, Ill., was traveling northbound on Benkert Road when Thompson lost control on pea gravel while attempting to negotiate a curve. Thompson's cycle went down on its side and Thompson was ejected from the motorcycle. Thompson was transported by the Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash and was later transported by Med Flight helicopter to the UW Hospital for additional treatment. Thompson was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the crash. The motorcycle had moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
- No injuries were reported during one-vehicle accident at 7:33 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 59, near Towns Road, in the Town of Decatur. Reports indicate that Johnny R. Sanders, 57, Albany, was eastbound on Wis. 59 when he hit a deer. There was minor damage to the vehicle and it was driven from the scene.
- Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 12:56 p.m. Saturday on Old Highway Road, near County M, in the Village of Browntown. Reports indicate that Dylan J. Ellsworth, 24, Browntown, was traveling east on Old Highway Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a culvert. The vehicle went airborne, overturned and came to rest on the passenger side. The vehicle had severe damage and it was towed from the scene. Ellsworth was transported by private vehicle to Monroe Clinic Hospital for injuries he received in the crash. Ellsworth was cited for first offense of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without insurance and was released.
- Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident 2:24 a.m. Sunday on County EE, near Trumpy Road, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant. Reports indicate that Tiffany L. Ziegler, 21, Barneveld, was westbound on County EE when she hit a deer. Ziegler received an injury in the crash and was transported by private vehicle to Meriter Hospital in Madison. The vehicle received minor damages and was driven from the scene.
