MONROE - A vehicle driven by Kendelin K. Sweeney, 30, Monroe, hit a raccoon Wednesday in the W 4400 block of Wisconsin 11/81 in Jefferson township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

DARLINGTON - No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:35 a.m. Thursday on County J in the Village of Benton. Deputies report Alexandra M. McCauley, 16, Benton, was distracted by an object within the vehicle, traveled across the roadway and into the opposite ditch, where her vehicle struck the junction box and a highway sign before coming to a stop. The collision caused a small explosion in the junction box and interrupted power within Benton for several hours. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Scott O. Andrews, 44, Shullsburg, hit a deer at about 3:41 a.m. Thursday on County C in Shullsburg township.

• A vehicle driven by Charles G. Christianson, 56, Monroe, hit a deer at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Wis. 81 in Seymour township. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed.
