Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 11th Street and 14th Avenue. Steven Steinmann, 62, Monroe, was driving a vehicle that hit another vehicle driven by a 51-year-old woman from Darlington. Steinmann was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. Both vehicles were moderately damaged.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday:

• Courtney B. Miller, 24, Mount Horeb, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred on County O north of Primrose Center Road, New Glarus Township, at 11:48 a.m. Miller was southbound on County O when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Mitchell Lee Curran, 32, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred on County N north of Wisconsin 81, Monroe Township, at 1:58 p.m. Curran was southbound on County N when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Two people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident in the W8500 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Cadiz. Laura J. Jeardeau, 19, Cuba City, was eastbound and reportedly looked down to get her coffee cup, and when she looked back up traffic ahead of her was slowing down. Jeardeau attempted to brake but hit the car in front of her driven by Harley R. D. French, 20, South Wayne. French was injured but refused medical transport. Jeardeau was transported to Monroe Clinic ER via Monroe EMS for a possible injury. Both vehicles were severely damaged and towed from the scene. French was arrested at 4:22 p.m. for driving under the influence, drug-related, and cited for no insurance. He was released pending court. Jeardeau was cited for inattentive driving and released pending court. Browntown Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.

• Amber C. Schultz, 43, Hanover, Ill., was uninjured in a deer vs. car crash that occurred in the N800 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno, at 9:25 p.m. Schultz was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her car. The car was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Belleville Police Officer Randy B. Burns, 29, Belleville, was uninjured in a deer vs. squad car crash that occurred in the W2000 block of Wisconsin 92, Brooklyn Township, at 10:54 p.m. Burns was eastbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his car. The car was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

On Saturday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County E and County EE, Town of Albany. Eldon J. Kruser, 19, Platteville, was cited at 5:12 a.m. for driving without a valid license, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol, after the accident. Kruser was southbound on County E, slowed and indicated a turn to the west, but then quickly turned east. A second vehicle driven by Deborah L. Bailey, 34, Albany, was following Kruser and was unable to avoid hitting his vehicle. Kruser's vehicle spun around and came to rest on Dunphy Road. Bailey was uninjured, and her vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. Kruser's vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. Kruser's passenger Jeremy A. Barnett, 19, Albany, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. K-9 unit Ike assisted at the scene.

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash in the N5600 block of Wis. 69, Town of Washington. Daniel J. Karlen, 54, Monticello, was driving southbound in a semi and empty trailer when he attempted to turn right into a field drive. Nicole T. Nilson, 27, Madison, was behind Karlen's vehicle and attempted to pass him on the right in the gravel shoulder. As Nilson was attempting to pass Karlen's vehicle, Karlen started to turn right and the vehicles collided. Karlen's semi sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Nilson's vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene. Nilson was cited at 6:18 p.m. for unsafe passing on the right and released pending court.

On Sunday:

• Shirley J. Wendtland, 61, Beloit, and her passengers were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred on Wis. 11 at Keller Road, Town of Clarno, at 3:42 a.m. Wendtland was eastbound on Wis. 11 when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her vehicle. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.

• Jaren B. Lervik, 28, Zion, Ill., was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N2300 block of County T, Town of Spring Grove, at 4:42 a.m. Lervik was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Sara M. Siegenthaler, 38, New Glarus, was uninjured in a deer vs. car crash that occurred in the N9600 block of County O, Town of New Glarus, at 7:17 a.m. Siegenthaler was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her vehicle. The vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was driven from the scene.

• Deputies observed a deer vs. car crash in the W8700 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz, at 7:02 p.m. Douglas L. Larson, 62, Browntown, was westbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Brent D. Reddington, 41, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 78, Gratiot Township, at 7:25 a.m.

• Chad R. Buschor, 37, Darlington, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 23, Willow Springs Township, at 7:53 a.m.

• Steven M. Monson, 43, Woodford, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 81, Darlington Township, at 11:14 p.m.

On Saturday:

• Christopher R. Burton, 34, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on U.S. 151, Belmont Township, at 1:04 a.m.

• Anthony L. Bartels, 39, West Salem, was uninjured in a one-truck accident on Mound Avenue, Village of Belmont, at 10:04 a.m. Bartels pulled into a parking lot and got out of the truck without putting it in park. The truck rolled ahead and hit a loading dock. Bartel's truck was damaged but driven from the scene.

• Eric J. Tyree, 42, Belleville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on South Main Street, Village of Blanchardville, at 2:38 p.m. Tyree was backing his vehicle up when it hit a stone retaining wall. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Veronica S. Lawrence, 46, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer with her vehicle on County W, Monticello Township, at 8:32 p.m.

• Michelle L. Wisnefski, 48, Cuba City, reported hitting a deer with her vehicle on County H, Benton Township, at 9:57 p.m.

On Sunday:

• James G. Larson, 52, Argyle, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on County N, Blanchard Township, at 5:56 a.m.

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on County G, Village of Belmont, at 12:57 p.m. Suzanne M. Vosberg, 46, Milwaukee, was eastbound when a vehicle driven by Alea R. Lindsey, 41, Mineral Point, failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and pulled into the path of the Vosberg vehicle. Both vehicles were damaged and driven from the scene.

• Juan A. Pena-Montoya, 22, Darlington, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle crash on County XX, Belmont Township. Pena-Montoya was westbound when his vehicle crossed the center line causing him to lose control and slide into the south ditch line. His vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. Pena-Montoya was cited at 11:14 p.m. for no valid license, open intoxicants in a vehicle and failure to maintain control. Platteville police, Platteville Fire Department, Platteville Ambulance and UW-Platteville Campus Police assisted at the scene.

• Patrick M. Obrien, 25, Belvidere, Ill., reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 23, Darlington Township, at 11:35 p.m.
