MONROE POLICE

MONROE - Jesus Andrade, 31, Freeport, Ill., was arrested for third-offense drunken driving, driving without a license and hit and run following a two-vehicle accident at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of 17th Street. Police report a vehicle driven by Andrade hit a parked vehicle owned by Joshua R. Foulker, Monroe. Andrade then left the scene and later was located by police. The vehicles received minor to moderate damage. Andrade was jailed.

GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE- Roger J. Stampfli Jr., 32, Blanchardville, was arrested for fifth-offense drunken driving, driving after revocation and failure to maintain control of a vehicle following a one-vehicle accident at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday on Wisconsin 39 at Buckeye Road in York township. Deputies report his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and went into a ditch. Stampfli was taken to UW-Hospital for injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed. The New Glarus Police Department, Blanchardville Fire Department and Lafayette County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Mill Street in Browntown. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Marion J. Stanton, 59, Darlington, was side-swiped by a vehicle that didn't stop. The crash remains under investigation.

• A vehicle driven by Jocelyn R. Smith, Monroe, hit a deer at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 81 near County M. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Maria L. Forrest, 44, Whitewater, hit a deer at about 6 p.m. Saturday on County EE near Tin Can Road. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Derek C. Hoesly, 34, Brooklyn, hit a deer at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 92 near Schaefer Road. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in a hit-and-run accident at about 5:15 p.m. Friday on Wis. 78 in Argyle township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Daniel D. Saalsaa, 25, Argyle, was hit when he started to turn left into a private driveway. The other vehicle left the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Shortcut Road in Willow Springs township. Deputies report Michael P. Mathys, 40, Darlington, reported at about 8 a.m. Sunday that he was driving his vehicle several hours before and swerved to avoid a deer. The vehicle went into a ditch and hit a fence.

• Everett E. Mau, 56, Cuba City, hit a deer at about 7 a.m. Friday on County W in Benton township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Christopher C. Wolfe, 41, Darlington, hit a deer Thursday on Wis. 81 in Darlington township. The vehicle received moderate damage. Wolfe reported the crash Friday at about 8:45 a.m.

• A vehicle driven by Samuel W. Warden, 35, Blanchardville, hit a deer at about 7:15 a.m. Saturday on North Lake Road in Blanchard township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Joseph H. Hendrickson, 81, Darlington, hit a deer at about 6:45 a.m. Sunday on St. Peters Road in Seymour township. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Ryan C. Miller, 23, Dubuque, Iowa, hit a deer at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday on County W in New Diggings township. The vehicle received minor damage.
