Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported in a deer vs. vehicle crash at 5:20 a.m. Monday, April 30, after Paul E. Thompson, 61, Blanchardville, collided with a deer in the N9100 block of Wisconsin 78 in the Town of York. The vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene.

- Deputies took a report at 10:58 a.m. Monday, April 30, of a single-vehicle crash that occurred the day before at about 8 a.m. near County J and Thoman Road in the Town of Adams. The driver, Jordin M. Hawthorn, 17, Monticello, reported no injuries and moderate vehicle damage. Hawthorn reportedly veered into the ditch and hit a fence.

- Deputies responded at 2:45 p.m. Monday, April 30, to a single-vehicle crash on private property in the N3900 block of Balls Mill Road in the Town of Sylvester. Jared S. Nipple, 19, Monroe, told deputies he was driving on a gravel driveway when he started to swerve around mud puddles, lost control, slid off the driveway onto wet grass and collided with a power pole. He was not injured. The truck Nipple was driving was moderately damaged and towed from the scene. Alliant Energy responded to fix the utility pole.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 12:08 p.m. Friday, April 27, after Conner D. Lind, 22, Monroe, reported damage to his vehicle when he was unable to avoid hitting lumber debris in the roadway on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Wayne.

- Samantha Jo Stanton, 17, Darlington, reported no injuries and minor damage to her vehicle at about 1:42 p.m. Friday, April 27, after it had a mechanical problem, causing her to lose control as she negotiated a curve on County H in the Town of Benton. She was able to safely steer the vehicle off the road. It was towed from the scene.

- A deputy responded at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, to Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Willow Springs to check the welfare of the occupants of a buggy that had veered off the road and into a ditch. The driver, Sarah S. Beiler, 19, Mineral Point, told deputies the horses had become uncontrollable after a large truck passed by the buggy. Beiler and several juvenile passengers were not injured. After untangling the horses, they continued on their way.

- A deputy responded at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, April 28, to a complaint of "numerous vehicles driving around" on McKnight Street in South Wayne.

- Tony G. Beckwith, 46, Argyle, reported at 11:48 p.m. Monday, April 30, that he hit a deer on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle crash at the New Glarus Brewery, 119 County W, at 2:19 p.m. Friday, April 27, after David A. Morgan, 37, Iowa, hit a parked semi trailer while backing up a 2010 Volkswagen. The Volkswagen was moderately damaged. There was no damage to the semi trailer.
