NEW GLARUS - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 10:15 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Railroad Street and 6th Avenue. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Kathleen M. Katz, 49, Gresham, Ore., had stopped at 6th Avenue and began to pull into traffic, when she decided to back up onto Railroad Street due to 6th Avenue traffic. She backed into a vehicle driven by Robert S. Wisdom, 64, New Glarus. Katz's vehicle received minor damage, and Wisdom's vehicle received moderate damage.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person sustained injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the N6500 block of English Settlement Road in Albany township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Gustavo F. Cortes, 17, rural Albany, was westbound on English Settlement Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went into the ditch and overturned onto its side, receiving severe damage. Gustavo drove the vehicle from the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. Gustavo sustained injuries in the crash, but declined medical treatment at the scene. It is unknown if a seat belt was worn. No airbags were deployed. Gustavo was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license and failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Albany Police Department assisted.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday on County X, south of County C, in Albany township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by David H. Pehl, 35, Juda, was northbound on County X when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree. Pehl sustained injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene. The vehicle received extensive front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Pehl was cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle and possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was released pending court. Albany EMS and Fire departments assisted.

• Jackie L. Rhode, 23, Freeport, Ill., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and two outstanding arrest warrants through Dane and Waukesha counties. Rhode was jailed. A passenger in the vehicle, Brandy L. Manning, 30, Freeport, Ill., was arrested on an outstanding warrant through Grant County for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Manning was jailed pending transport to Grant County. The arrests came following an investigation of a report of a possible hit-and-run crash to a parked, white vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Sir Buk's Dance Club on County KK in Monroe township. Deputies report the offending vehicle left the scene without reporting the crash. The Monroe Police Department located the offending vehicle and made the arrests. The crash remains under investigation.

• A vehicle driven by Amy M. Lee, 20, Browntown, collided with a deer at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the W7700 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Cadiz. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in an ATV accident at about 9 p.m. Saturday on private property on Swanson Road in Wayne township. No other details were available.

• Philip Johnson, 67, Argyle, reported striking a deer at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday on Wisconsin 11 in Shullsburg township.

• Nancy Winslow, 56, Darlington, reported striking a deer at about 10 p.m. Saturday on County K in Gratiot township.
