Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported at 4:46 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, after officers responded to a one-vehicle accident. Marshall G. Venden, 59, Monroe, was northbound on Wisconsin 69 when he slid on a patch of ice and hit a stop sign after trying to turn right onto 17th Street. The vehicle was moderately damaged.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Thursday, Feb. 28:

- Cody B. Bocklund, 22, Argyle, was uninjured in a truck vs. deer collision at 2:37 a.m. on Wis. 81 east of Jordan Center Road in the Town of Jordan. The truck sustained minor damage, and Bocklund drove it from the scene.

- James F. Von Arx, 60, Monticello, was uninjured in a rollover accident at 6:12 a.m. on Wis. 69 south of Hefty Road in the Town of Washington. Von Arx was northbound when he lost control on the icy roads. His vehicle slid into the east ditch and rolled once, coming to rest on its wheels. It sustained moderate damage to the rear driver's side quarter panel, roof and rear window. It was towed out of the ditch and driven from the scene.

- No injuries were reported after deputies responded at 7:22 a.m. to a one-vehicle crash in the N9200 block of Wis. 69. Gregory T. Rufenacht, 45, Monroe, lost control of the vehicle on a snow- and ice-covered driveway and collided with a tree. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Feb. 28:

- No one was injured in a rollover accident on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont at 8:23 a.m. Kyle A. Heins, 28, Dodgeville, was southbound in the passing lane when a semi truck passed by in the slow lane. The wind pushed Heins to the left and he reported he got into some snow and slush which caused him to lose control. His 2008 Honda slid into the west ditch, hit a snow bank and overturned. The Honda was towed.

- A deputy responded to reports of slide-offs on County XX in the Town of Belmont at 5:59 a.m. and 7:38 a.m.
