Monroe Police

MONROE - Aaron R. McDermott, 18, Browntown, was cited at 3:44 p.m. Friday for following too closely after his vehicle hit a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old woman from Davis, Ill., in the 200 block of 8th Street. Neither driver was injured in the accident.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - After receiving an anonymous letter concerning a vehicle crash that occurred on Feb. 8 on County M south of Smock Valley Road, Town of Jordan, Ronald J. Frei, 49, Argyle, was cited at 7:49 a.m. Thursday for knowingly assisting a person in leaving the scene of an accident without reporting it to law enforcement. Investigation determined Coral J. Frei, 16, Brodhead, was northbound on County M on Feb. 8 when her vehicle left the roadway and went into the ditch, hitting a small tree and a barbed wire fence. Coral Frei did not report any injuries from the crash. The vehicle's owner, Ronald Frei, assisted Coral Frei in getting the vehicle out of the ditch and the vehicle was then driven from the scene. Deputies estimated the vehicle sustained about $1,000 worth of damage from the crash. Coral Frei was issued written warnings for failure to keep control of a vehicle and failure to notify law enforcement of a crash. Ronald Frei was released pending court.

• Phyllis A. Pickett, 84, Brodhead, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on County E near Race Road, Town of Decatur, at 7:22 p.m. Friday. Pickett was southbound on County E when she lost control of her vehicle in a curve and entered the ditch where the vehicle hit a sign post and came to a stop. The vehicle received minor roof damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Sunday:

• Martin J. Cleary, 58, Shullsburg, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on South Prairie Road, Gratiot Township. Cleary was cited at 11:43 a.m. for failure to stop at a stop sign after he lost control of his eastbound vehicle after swerving to miss a deer. He was attempting to make a left-hand turn and entered the ditch to miss the deer, then entered a field where the vehicle stopped. Cleary was released pending court. The vehicle received damage and was towed from the scene.

• Bailey J. Kehm, 16, Blanchardville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 78, Argyle Township. Kehm was southbound when his vehicle had a mechanical issue and caused it to enter the ditch. The vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police investigated a suspicious activity complaint at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday in the 10 block of 11th Avenue. The area was checked and everything was found to be OK.
