Darlington Police>

DARLINGTON - Edward Thompson, 22, Darlington, was arrested for inattentive driving, obstructing a police officer and failure to wear a seat belt following a one-vehicle accident around 5:15 a.m. May 23. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Main Street at Minerva Street in Darlington. The driver of the vehicle left the scene of the accident. Thompson later gave police false information about who was driving the car at the time of the crash.

New Glarus Police>

NEW GLARUS - No one was injured in a three-vehicle accident around 5 p.m. Saturday on Wisconsin 69 near Sixth Avenue. Police report a vehicle driven by James E. Lahey, 36, New Glarus, was stopped and a vehicle driven by Arthur M. Sands, 83, Evansville, was stopped behind Lahey's vehicle, when a vehicle driven by Malachi D. Braughler, 16, New Glarus, rear-ended Sans' vehicle, forcing it to hit Lahey's vehicle. Braughler's vehicle received moderate damage, while Sands' vehicle received minor damage. Lahey's vehicle had no visible damage.

Monroe Police>

MONROE - Chad M. Olbak, 31, Juda, was arrested for drunken driving, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and open intoxicants in a vehicle following a one-vehicle accident around 2 a.m. Sunday at Fourth Avenue West and Tenth and a Half Street. Police report his vehicle hit an Alliant Energy electrical box. The vehicle was towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff>

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident around 4 p.m. on U.S. Highway 151 in Belmont township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Shani L. Graham, 23, Madison, traveled into the median, went back onto the road and rolled several times. Graham sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southwest Healthcare in Platteville. She was cited for inattentive driving. Her vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• No one was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Cheese Country Trail. Deputies report an ATV driven by Cynthia Bechette, 19, Racine, drove into the river. Bechette was cited for not having a safety certificate. The ATV was retrieved from the river by friends.
