New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday on 5th Street near Railroad Street. Police report a vehicle driven by Melissa D. Kriebs, 32, New Glarus, backed into a parked vehicle owned by Ryan J. Keehn, 26, Madison. Keehn's vehicle received minor damage.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday on 5th Avenue near 2nd Street. Police report a vehicle driven by John R. Lewis, 40, New Glarus, backed into a parked vehicle driven by Timothy L. Johnson, 54, McFarland. Neither vehicle was damage.

MONROE - One person was injured in a bicycle accident at about 4 p.m. Saturday on Farmer's Grove Road in New Glarus township. Deputies report a bicycle ridden by Samuel B. Thompson, 50, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, tipped over due to dirt and gravel on the road. Thompson was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital by Med Flight. The New Glarus Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday on Balls Mill Road near Greenbush Road. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Megan R. Prien, 19, Delavan, left the road and collided with several trees. Prien sustained injured but declined medical treatment. She was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. She was released pending court. The vehicle received extensive damage. Speed was considered a factor in the crash.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday on Wis. 81 near Trotter Road in Adams township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Carole L. Miranda, 57, Blanchardville, failed to negotiate a curve, left the highway and hit an embankment. She was taken to the Monroe Clinic by Argyle EMS. The vehicle received moderate damages and was towed.
