Traffic Accidents: July 8, 2009

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Joseph P. Schubat, 29, Ridott, Ill., was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, hit and run, driving too fast for conditions and failure to wear a seatbelt Monday following an investigation into a one-vehicle accident reported at about 3:15 a.m. Sunday on County M at County B in Cadiz township. Deputies report Schubat's vehicle failed to yield at the intersection, left the road and hit an embankment and a wooden fence. Schubat left the scene. He was released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Scott D. Christen, 25, Juda, collided with a deer at about 1:45 a.m. Monday in the W4400 block of Wisconsin 59. The vehicle received moderate damage.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident at about 2:15 p.m. Monday on County F in Blanchard township. Deputies report Joseph M. Dumas, 11, Bolingbrook, Ill., left the road and went through a barbed wire fence. Dumas was taken to Monroe Clinic for his injuries. He was wearing a helmet and goggles at the time of the crash.
