Traffic Accidents: Jan. 30, 2013

MONROE - On Tuesday Jan. 28:

• Jeffrey L. Thomm, 66, rural Monroe, was in a two-vehicle accident with no injuries that occurred at the intersection of Iliff road and County N, Town of Monroe. Thomm was eastbound on Iliff Road when he was unable to stop his vehicle for a stop sign due to the icy road conditions. Thomm's vehicle slid through the intersection and into the path of a southbound vehicle operated by Todd R. Eicher, 50, rural Monticello. Eicher attempted to evade but was unable to avoid the collision. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

• Carrie B. Benton, 43, Brodhead, was uninjured following a one-vehicle crash at the N5400 block of Wis. 104. Benton was northbound on Wis. 104 when a southbound vehicle reportedly crossed the center line and entered Benton's lane of travel. Benton attempted to avoid the collision and lost control of her vehicle, which traveled into a snow bank on the west side of Wis. 104. Benton drove the vehicle from the scene. The second vehicle was not located.
