Traffic Accidents: Jan. 29, 2014

MONROE - On Monday, Jan. 27:

• Kyle S. Zimmerman, 34, Orangeville, and his passenger were uninjured after a one-vehicle accident on Wis. 69 near County B, Town of Clarno at 4:10 a.m. Zimmerman lost control of his truck due to slippery road conditions and it started to fishtail and then slid into the east ditch where the truck flipped onto its side. The truck sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• Deputies responded at 5:06 p.m. to the intersection of Wis. 11/81 and County KK, Town of Jefferson for a two-vehicle crash. Heather L. Prinkey, 38, Brodhead, was eastbound on Wis. 11/81 when she came to a complete stop within the lane of traffic on an on-ramp. Samuel A. Beuschel, 45, Juda, was also eastbound and was unable to avoid Prinkey's stopped vehicle before his vehicle hit the rear portion of Prinkey's. The collision forced Prinkey's vehicle to enter the intersection and travel into the north ditch, coming to rest on a snow bank. Both drivers reported no injuries.

• Laura M. Heurer, 22, Ponynette, was uninjured following a one-vehicle accident on County M near Schlappi Road, Town of Cadiz. Heurer lost control of her vehicle while southbound due to slippery road conditions and hit a snow bank in the east ditch.

• Deputies responded to seven separate reports of vehicles in the ditch or stuck in the roadway due to drifting snow. In each instance, no injuries or damages were reported.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Mathew J. Anderson, 26, Darlington, was uninjured Saturday, Jan. 25 after a one-vehicle accident on County F, Darlington Township. Anderson lost control of his vehicle due to slippery roads and slid into a yard, hitting several trees that caused extensive damage to his vehicle. Anderson was cited for failure to maintain control.

• Deputies responded to reports of several slide-offs and vehicles in the ditch around 4:46 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at various locations in Lafayette County, due to the slippery road conditions. No injuries or property damage were reported from those incidents.

On Sunday, Jan. 26:

• Aaron C Erickson, 39, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer on County N, Argyle Township at 12:13 a.m.

• A deputy responded to County G, Willow Springs Township at 2:41 a.m. for a vehicle in the ditch.

• A deputy responded to Wis. 78, Argyle Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

• Deputies responded to reports of several slide-offs and vehicles in the ditch at a number of locations in Lafayette County around 1:30 p.m., due to slippery road conditions caused by blowing snow. No injuries or property damage were reported from those incidents.

On Monday, Jan. 27:

• Derek A. Rikli, 18, Dodgeville, reported minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 151, Kendall Township. Rikli lost control of his vehicle as he was crossing the icy bridge, went off the roadway and down an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll over. He was transported by Mineral Point EMS to Upland Hills Hospital for his injuries. The 2001 Chevrolet Malibu Rickli was operating sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

• Joseph R. Geach, 22, Winslow, Ill., was uninjured after a one-vehicle accident on County D, Wiota Township. Geach lost control of his vehicle and slid off the roadway. The 2010 Dodge Geach was operating sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• Brenda J. Shepherd, 48, Benton, was uninjured following a one-vehicle accident on Dump Road, Benton Township. Shepherd lost control of her truck, which traveled off the roadway and hit some trees. The 2010 Nissan truck Shepherd was operating sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
