Traffic Accidents: Jan. 21, 2014

Monroe Police

MONROE - Officers were dispatched at 10:04 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 to 16th Avenue and 15th Street for a traffic accident with no injuries. Margery K. Veseling, 54, St. Charles, Ill., was driving her vehicle when it hit a vehicle driven by John A. Severson, 55, Monroe. Veseling was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. She was released pending court.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Tiffini L. Everhart, 20, Orangeville, was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance and an expired registration during a traffic stop at 6:33 p.m. on Wis. 69 and 11th Avenue on Sunday, Jan. 12.

• Police were requested to assist the Green County Sheriff's Department at 10:28 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 for a single vehicle rollover crash on Wis. 39 near Durst Road. New Glarus Fire Department and New Glarus EMS also assisted on scene.

• Police responded at 5:53 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 to a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot in the 1100 block of Wis. 69. Dakota Rose P. Pockrus was uninjured after she backed a vehicle into the rear of a legally parked vehicle.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Jan. 17:

• No injuries were reported after a minor traffic accident in the parking lot of Benton Schools. Kevin D. Germaine, 48, Benton, was backing his vehicle out when the rear hit a vehicle owned by Cheryle Darrow, Benton.

• A deputy responded at 6:19 a.m. to County M in Wiota Township for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The driver reported no injuries or damages to the vehicle.

On Saturday, Jan. 18:

• No injuries were reported at 7:38 a.m. from a one-vehicle accident on County W in White Oaks Springs Township. Erin M. Berget, 25, Gratiot, lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway causing it to travel into the ditch where the vehicle hit several trees. The truck was towed from the scene with extensive damage.

• Louis M. Burris, 66, Darlington, was injured in a one-vehicle accident on County F in Darlington Township. Burris was northbound when his vehicle traveled into the ditch and hit a utility pole causing power lines to fall on the roadway. Burris was transported by Rural Medical Ambulance to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital. Darlington Fire Department also assisted at the scene at 10:47 a.m.

• Nickholas V. Meyer, 29, South Wayne, was uninjured in a two-vehicle accident on South Varnum Street in South Wayne at 9:23 p.m. Meyer lost control of his vehicle as he was southbound and struck an unoccupied vehicle owned by Joyce A. Voegeli.
