MONROE - Brian J. Obert, 36, Winslow, Ill., was cited for failure to yield the right of way following a two-vehicle accident around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of 17th Street. Police report a vehicle driven by Obert hit a vehicle driven by Michael A. Bear, 43, Orangeville, Ill. Both vehicles received extensive damage and were towed.
• Kelsey M. Rients, 17, Monroe, was cited for following an automobile too closely following a two-vehicle accident around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Ninth Street. Police report Rients' vehicle hit a vehicle driven by Jetta M. Newman, 36, Monroe. No further information was available.
