Traffic Accidents: Feb. 7, 2014

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Feb. 5:

• A deputy assisted the Iowa County Sheriff's Department at 7:51 a.m. at the scene of a traffic accident on U.S. 151, Iowa County.

• Joseph L. Wedig, 43, Darlington, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident on South Dublin Road, Darlington Township at 5:30 p.m.

• A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at 6:30 p.m. on Wis. 11, Benton Township.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Sameena L. Quinn, 40, Monroe, was uninjured and cited for inattentive driving following a two-vehicle accident in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Quinn was released pending court.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Wednesday, Feb. 5:

• Eric P. Wesner, 39, Monroe, was uninjured in a one-vehicle roll over crash in the N9400 block of Wis. 69, Town of New Glarus at 7:48 a.m. Wesner was southbound while passing another southbound vehicle and lost control due to snow on the roadway. His vehicle left the east side of the road and overturned. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• Both parties sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the W6600 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. Joshua D. Hasting, 20, Stockton, Ill., was westbound on Wis. 11 and stated he may have fallen asleep just prior to colliding with a car driven by Carol G. Rufener, 75, Monroe. Rufener was stopped, preparing to turn into a driveway when the crash occurred. Both drivers refused transport to the hospital by Green County EMS. Both Hasting's and Rufener's vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. The Monroe Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene. Hasting was cited for inattentive driving and released pending court.

• Michelle W. Anderson, 28, Albany, and her passengers were uninjured in a one-vehicle crash in the N4200 block of Wis. 59, Town of Sylvester. Anderson was eastbound when she hit a patch of ice and lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle then traveled into the south gravel shoulder and collided with the snow-filled ditch. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
