Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Matthew D. Wehrwein, 27, Janesville, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after his vehicle overturned in a ditch near Dolan Lane on Wisconsin 81, Town of Monroe. Wehrwein was cited at 8:48 a.m. for reckless driving after he told deputies he fell asleep at the wheel and his vehicle went into the ditch overturning, spilling a load of nine dead deer. Wehrwein is contracted through Green County to pick up vehicle-killed deer. Wehrwein was transported from the scene by EMS for treatment of his injuries. His vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene. The deer carcasses were cleared from the roadway.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Pablo Rivera-Andrade, 27, Darlington, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on County M, Darlington Township. Rivera-Andrade was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Thursday for driving after revocation after he attempted to avoid a deer in the southbound lane and lost control of his vehicle causing it to hit the ditch line and overturn. Rivera-Andrade was also cited for no insurance. His vehicle sustained damage and was towed from the scene. Rivera-Andrade was jailed and then later released.
