Monroe Police

MONROE - Gudelia Castellanos, 44, Monroe, was cited for operating with a suspended license and failing to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign after a two-vehicle crash at 6:31 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the intersection of 20th Avenue and 13th Street. The other driver was Susan A. Stevenson, 61, Juda. Neither reported injuries.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - James E. Schmitz, 52, Belleville, was transported to the Monroe Clinic with injuries after a one-vehicle accident reported at 11:08 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2. According to reports, Schmitz had been traveling east on County C when his vehicle drifted onto the gravel shoulder. He overcorrected and slid across to the other side of the road, striking a culvert and rolling over. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Schmitz was wearing his seatbelt.

- Willis F. Disch, Jr., 68, Monticello, reported no injuries and moderate vehicle damage at 5:34 p.m. Dec. 2 after colliding with a deer on Wisconsin 69 at Exeter Crossing Road in New Glarus.

- Thomas R. Gray, 69, Davis, Ill., reported no injuries and moderate vehicle damage at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 2 after colliding with a deer on Wisconsin 104 south of Brochardt Road in Decatur.

- Heather D. Hilt, 35, Brodhead, reported no injuries at 7:22 p.m. Dec. 2 in the W300 block of County E in Decatur after the van she was driving stopped and the engine started smoking. The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.
