MONROE - Elaine A. Karls, 80, Monroe, sustained minor injuries but declined medical transport after she crashed into the Walgreen's building at 717 8th Ave. around 6:45 p.m. Thursday. She apparently stepped on the accelerator pedal rather than the brake pedal, causing her vehicle to hit the wall of the building and deploy the vehicle's airbags. The building sustained structural damage, and the vehicle was moderately damaged.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Thursday:

• Nicole I. Burns, 27, Monticello, was transported by New Glarus EMS for injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle rollover crash at 7:10 p.m. in the W4100 block of County C, Town of Mount Pleasant. Burns was westbound when she reportedly fell asleep and her vehicle collided with a ditch and a mailbox, and then overturned. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed. The Monticello Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.

• Non-life-threatening injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover crash at 4:48 p.m. in the W8600 block of Prairie View Road, Town of Adams. Hannah M.K. Willis, 16, Fennimore, was westbound when she lost control on a curve and her vehicle overturned. She was uninjured. She was cited for failure to keep her vehicle under control. A passenger in the vehicle, Bailey J. Stephen, 18, Albany, was injured but declined EMS transport. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed.
