Terrence L. O'Bel age 63 of Albany, Wisconsin died Friday, March 18, 2011 at his home. He was born August 16, 1947 in Galena, Illinois the son of Ivan and Norma (Smith) O'Bel. Terrence entered the U.S. Army on September 24, 1965 at Chicago, IL, was stationed at Handorf, Germany, and was discharged on October, 24, 1973 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, and One Overseas Bar.

Terrence and Roberta Thoman were married on April 12, 1969 at Washington Reformation Church and they farmed for 21 years. Terrence went to Baking School receiving a degree in 1994 and for the last 18 years, he and Roberta owned and operated the Edgewater Café in Albany, WI. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, refrigeration, and Nintendo DS. He was the man who had all the answers. Anytime his children were in need of help or guidance, he always had the simplest answers & they rang so true. He would walk beside us & guide us through those journeys.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta O'Bel of Albany, WI; sons, Johnnie O'Bel of Monroe, WI & Greg (Wendy Martin) O'Bel of Albany, WI; daughter, Joy O'Bel of Albany, WI; grandchildren, Matthew John O'Bel, Alana O'Bel, Kristin O'Bel, Alycia O'Bel, Maiya O'Bel, & Jayden O'Bel; brothers, Eugene O'Bel of Hayward, WI, Don O'Bel of Albany, WI, Roger (Laurie) Ackerson of Warren, IL, Tommy (Darcey) Ackerson of Shullsburg, WI, & Dennis (Sherry) Ackerson of Warren, IL; sisters, Judy (Gene) Fox of New Port Richie, FL, Sandy (Dave) Wardwell of La Crosse, WI, & Rita Tate of Columbus, OH, and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his Parents; daughter, Tina Marie; and brother, James O'Bel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Washington Reformation United Church of Christ at rural Monticello, WI with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI. Condolences may be sent to the family at shriner111.com.
