MONROE — A suspected peeping tom was arrested Nov. 24 about two blocks west of Lincoln Park after a woman called police to report a stranger peeking in her bathroom window.

The female resident in the 1900 block of 14th Avenue called police at about 8:30 p.m. while her husband was outside confronting the man, said Monroe Police Capt. Jerry Dahlen.

Police arrested Robert B. Hendrix, 43, Orangeville, on a charge of invasion of privacy and took him to the jail, where he was later released on bond. Officers on scene reported he admitted to looking in the windows of residences.

“We only know of one house that happened at,” Dahlen said, adding that with the report of the incident coming out, perhaps others in the neighborhood will recall seeing Hendrix.

Court records for Wisconsin and for Stephenson County in Illinois show no criminal record and no history of similar offenses for Hendrix.
