FREEPORT - Sharon K. Kurth age 74, of Freeport, IL passed away on Thursday September 7, 2017 at Pearl Pavilion. She was born on March 11, 1943 to Wayne and Luella (Schliem) Martin in Monroe, WI. She married James Kurth on October 7, 1961 in Rockford, IL. Sharon farmed her whole life alongside her husband in the rural Winslow area. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr., gardening and flowers, puzzles, Chicago Bears, Wheel of Fortune, Soap Operas, listening to Le-Win football games, watching birds, cats, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband James of Freeport, IL; children- Karmen (Jim Moore) Ditzler, Dawn (Fred) Demeter, Karl (Vicki) Kurth, Kevin (Tracy) Kurth, Lisa (Clyde) Mueller, Jamie (Megan) Kurth and James (Heather Gaul) Kurth; 17 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; siblings - Eleanor Martin, Randy (Diane) Martin, Ron (Sharon) Martin and Leo (Lynette) Martin.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Alan Martin.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Officiating will be Randy Nicholas.

Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
