Series of thefts from cars being investigated

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Police Department is investigating a number of vehicle break-ins. All vehicles had been left unlocked and unattended.

The thefts are believed to have occurred between the night of June 22 and June 24.

Reported between 7:15 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. June 23:

• 1200 block of 1st Street, a portable DVD player, a Tom Tom GPS Navigation unit, a Sirius Satellite radio.

• 10 block of 10th Avenue, an iPod adapter cord, a MacIntosh brand iPod, 10 CDs, a Navcam GPS unit.

• 800 block of 10th Avenue, coin purse with a small amount of coins, silver Panasonic radio face plate.

• 600 block 8th Avenue, Pioneer radio face plate, 50 CDs in a black case.

• 1100 block of 1st Street, Nano iPod, two purses, one with ornately decorated with beads, with personal property and identification.

• 800 block of 10th Avenue, flashlight headlamp, five bottles of beer, USB cable charging cord, a bag containing shower and toiletry articles.

• 1000 block of 8th Street, JVC CD player, a DVD movie, six PlayStation 2 video games, GPS navigator adapter wire, cellular telephone charger.

• 400 block 9th Avenue, Craftsman multi-tool in a black nylon case, jack knife, cellular phone charging cord, two oil change gift card certificates in a black plastic pouch.

Reported between 8:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. June 25:

• 800 block of 10th Avenue, about $10 worth of coins, red U.S. Cellular phone (believed to have been stolen June 22).

• 600 block of 9th Avenue, 50 CDs in a black compact disc holder, $6 in change (reportedly stolen June 24)

The Police Department has received a number of tips in the theft investigations. Anyone with additional information is requested to contact the New Glarus Police Department at (608) 527-2145. Police urge all citizens to secure their vehicles and secure valuables to prevent easy theft.
