MONROE - S. Rose Blanc, age 92, passed away to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Wood's Crossing Nursing facility at Brodhead, Wisconsin, after a brief illness, with her family by her side. Rose was born on May 13, 1915 in her Green County home to the parents Fred and Etta (Bennett) Broders, the third of four daughters. She has lived in that home for all of her 92 years.

She was an active member of the Christian Science Mother Church in Boston, MA and the Christian Science Church of Monroe, for 60 years. Her faith was the most important ingredient in her life. Rose lived a life of love and caring for all. She was a caregiver for many family members and friends over the years. She was employed by Swiss Colony, worked at canvassing door to door for city directories in Monroe and worked for Monroe Credit Bureau. She attended Roosevelt School.

Rose married Conrad Blanc February 21, 1935 in St. John's Church Monroe. They farmed on Rose's parents 20 acre home farm for many years.

She is survived by two children, Roger (Janet) Blanc, rural Monroe, Beverly (Cliff) Lien, rural Belleville; grandchildren, Cindy Blanc, Marc Blanc, Thelma Rose (Chris) Gerrits, Mikel (Sheilagh) Lien, Michele (Paul Mross) Lien and David (Karen) Lien; and great-grandchildren, Hans Blanc, Heidi Blum, Jared and Ryan Lien, Emily and Alex Gerrits, Karna Mross. Step-grandchildren, Debra Guisleman, Duane Jones, Dan Jones, Diane Barrett; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad; sisters, Amy, Esther, Dorothy; two siblings in infancy, George and Viola; and three half-brothers, Ted, Otto and Ernest Broders.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Reader Charles Wellington and Reverend Mark Gruner officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christian Science Church or Monroe Clinic Hospice.
