Ruth Kaster

Ruth Kaster, age 87, of Argyle, WI, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Monroe Manor in Monroe, WI. She was born February 4, 1927 in Fayette Township in Lafayette County, WI, the daughter of James and Martha (McKillip) McDonald. Ruth attended Equal Rights Country School between Fayette and Waldwick and graduated from Darlington High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Leo "Charlie" Kaster on January 11, 1958 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle. Ruth lived in the Fayette and Argyle areas all of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper at Monroe Auto Electric for 15 years and as a secretary for Attorney R. Finley Barry in Argyle for 31 1â"2 years before retiring for health reasons.

Ruth is survived by six nieces: Patricia Hagar, Peggy Gorkowski, Pam Wenz, Linda Larson, Joan (Ron) Gruenberg, and Christine Larson; two nephews: Michael Robert McDonald and James (Sue) Larson; a special friend: Alice Olson; and two sisters-in-law: Lois Kaster and Erma Kaster. She was preceded in death by her father: James on March 25, 1966; her mother: Martha on July 21, 1967; her husband: Charlie on March 14, 2001; twin siblings: Paul and Pauline in infancy in September of 1923; one brother: Robert McDonald on June 9, 2011; one sister: Kathleen Larson on May 10, 1995; one brother-in-law: August Larson on November 16, 1989; and one sister-in-law: Anna Mae McDonald in August of 2011. Ruth was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle and its Council of Catholic Women. She served on the church council and was also a member of Mad City Antique Rambler Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle, a branch of St. Isidore Parish, 213 North Lafayette Street in Argyle with Rev. Thomas Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 801 East Milwaukee Street in Argyle and on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church.
