Ruth Ann (Stuessy) Leopold, age 54 of LaCanada, California, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in California. Ruth Ann was born November 22, 1953 in Monroe, the daughter of Nathan I. and Anna (Weckerly) Stuessy.

While growing up she worked in the family business, Stuessy's Clover Farm in Gratiot. She graduated from Blackhawk High School in South Wayne in 1971. She married Stephen Leopold in November, 1972 in Brodhead. Ruth Ann worked for Advance Transformer for 17 years. In 1985 she moved to Tucson, AZ where she received her Associate degree in Office Management from Chaporal College. She returned to Wisconsin in 2000 and worked at the Bank of Evansville before moving to California in 2004.

She most recently was employed at the Cresenta Canada Pet Hospital in LaCrescenta, CA.

Ruth Ann was an avid reader who had a wonderful smile and pleasant demeanor.

Survivors include her son, Nathan Leopold of Oregon, WI; Nathan's father, Steve Leopold of Janesville; her mother, Ann Stuessy of Monroe; two brothers, Steve (Linda) Stuessy and Thomas L. (Judi) Stuessy Sr., all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two nieces, Tammy Hagen of Monroe, Renee (Dwayne) Hillhouse of Broken Arrow, OK; two nephews, Tommy Stuessy of Wells, VT, and Raymond (Terri) Stuessy of Broken Arrow, OK; several aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is further survived by good friends, Gwen, Tami, Val, and Dr. Speas all from California. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Stuessy in September, 1971.

A Memorial Services for Ruth Ann will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Reverend Gretchen Sylvester of St. John's United Church of Christ will officiate with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Ruth Ann's name.
