Russell F. Kundert

Russell F. Kundert, age 84 of Monroe, died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Russ was born February 6, 1928 in Monroe, the son of Frank and Frieda (Goecks) Kundert. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1946 and entered the U.S. Army in August of 1946. He served as a military policeman before his honorable discharge in January, 1948. Russ married Mary E. Durner on June 26, 1949. They lived in the Western U.S. before returning to Monroe and joining the family business, Kundert Oil, in 1962. After several years of business, Russ semi-retired and moved to Tuscon, AZ where he acquired a turquoise jewelry business. Mary Kundert died on August 21, 2000. Russ married Janice (Cordes) Weber on July 26, 2003.

Russ is survived by his wife, Janice Kundert; four children, Ann (Roger) Berg of DeSoto, WI, Thomas (Carla) Kundert of Monroe, Julie (Michael) Feidt of Ripon, WI, and Peggy Bahler of Monroe; step-children, Paul Weber of Union Grove, WI, Steve Weber of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rob (Brenda) Weber of Twin Grove, WI; seven grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy McGuire of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; a son in infancy; a grandson, Christopher; and a brother-in-law, John McGuire.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Pastor John Tabaka of Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe, will officiate with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Russell's name.
