Rosemary L. Ehlert, 85, of Janesville died Monday, March 21, 2016 at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center surrounded by her family. Rosemary was born in Dakota, IL on September 11, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Martha (Steinman) Gerber. She attended country school until moving to Monroe, WI where she graduated from Monroe High School in 1948. She worked for the Monroe Collection Agency and Credit Bureau. She married William Ehlert on June 21, 1952 at St. John's Evangelical and Reform Church in Monroe. They moved to Beaver Dam, WI where Rosemary worked for the J.C. Penney Company. They later resided in Shawano, WI and Sterling, IL until moving to Janesville in 1958. She was employed by Henning Terrace Pharmacy, and then for 21 years by Merchants and Savings Bank (now BMO-Harris) until retiring in 1991. William Ehlert preceded Rosemary in death in 1982. In October 1990, she married Gilbert Enke and they were married for 24 years. Rosemary was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and relatives as well as traveling.

Surviving are three daughters, Sherril Longmuir of Lacey, WA, Jilleen (Paul) Throndsen of Janesville, Barbara (Wayne) Johnston of Chandler, AZ, four grandchildren, Dan (Teri) Boylan, David (Jen) Longmuir, Alec Johnston, Sara Johnston, four great-grandchildren, Gavin and Gentry Boylan, Abigail and Wesley Longmuir. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jake Gerber who died while serving in the military service, Robert Gerber, Herman Gerber, and seven sisters, Louise Grob, Helen Vickers, Gertrude Ostrander, Margaret Zaugg, Marie Gerber, Pauline Cleaveland and Clara Boll.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2116 Mineral Point Avenue, Janesville. Pastor Jeffrey Tomberlin will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made in Rosemary's name to Faith Lutheran Church. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
